PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Everest Trade Paints - Anti-Corrosive Oxide Primer Paint is as the name suggests a highly durable, oil-based primer that provides excellent anti-corrosive properties to prevent rust formation on steelwork and metal cladding.
Designed for use on Steel and wood to ensure maximum adhesion for the subsequent solvent-based topcoats.
Available in Grey, Red and Buff in a semi-shine finish.
This product is designed to be a tough and durable coating, it allows the surface to then be coated with one of the many Everest Trade Paints - Solvent-Based Topcoats for a multitude of uses.
Can be easily applied by brush, roller or airless sprayer.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Ensure all surfaces are sound and clean, free from dust and flaking paint.
Ensure the surface is completely dry and free from condensation and damp.
Remove any loose or flaking paint.
SUITABLE SUBSTRATES
Suitable for use on Steelwork and wood.

SPREADING RATE (Coverage)
Approximately 6 - 8 square metres per litre per coat.
This varies, apply in thin even coats to ensure maximum durability and lower drying times.
DRYING TIME

STORAGE PRECAUTIONS
Store away from heat and flames. For long-term storage, keep away from frost. Secure the lid between uses to prevent paint hardening.
CLEANER / THINNERS
This product can be thinned with standard White spirits, thinning should only be done if the product is being sprayed and the sprayer is unable to spray the product un-thinned. Up to 15% white spirits can be added, try and add as little white spirits as possible until spraying is possible to ensure maximum quality.
Cleaning brushes and equipment should be done with White spirits.
BATCH INFORMATION
We recommend ordering all the paint required in one order so you receive the same batch, ordering on different dates will result in receiving different batches which may result in a shade difference.
This is fine if you are planning on using the different batches on different coats, However, it's not recommended to use on the same coat if being used as the top coat.
Disclaimer: There is a small possibility that your order may be delivered in white tins with the product label applied, this is rare but can occur in times of increased demand due to the manufacturer running out of printed tins due to a large spike in sales. You can confirm this with the manufacturer.

Paint seems to cover well but had quite a thick skin on top when I opened the tin, this did not dissolve with mixing, i guess the paint had been around for a while, ok for rough brush painting but no good for spraying

Great paint oil tank looks like new
good value for money
Easy to order, good quality paint and very good staff when there was a problem with the delivery, the parcel firm damaged the goods and they were undeliverable, However I picked them up in person with no problems at all and had a refund for the post before I got home.
Have used the grey primer on large farm barn doors. The primer covered the bare metal (galvanized) and old paint in one coat to leave a good finish (people thought it was the final top coat). So, excellent opacity and good coverage.
Paint tins arrived dented (all three) so transportation/handling was careless, but will buy again because the product is excellent. Staff (Lewis) were helpful and responsive.
