Dry’s quickly and can washes brushes or rollers after with soapy water

Great paint went on very well and dried well. Had two coats. Only thing I’m noticing is that my tyres leave a black mark. I left it just over a week before I drove on it. Speaking to a man at the company it could be the anti slip which is sticking to my tyres. It will wash off but a little annoying after such hard work.
Perhaps if I’d known I’d have gone for dark grey.

After reading the reviews on the sandstone paint being too light I decided to buy the brown. And I am so pleased with it. The coverage was good, rich colour enhanced the colours of the flowers. I also used it on the plant pots. But please beware the anti slip is attached to the outside of the box, with no indication you have to mix it in yourself, and depending on which side it is attached, I missed it until the box was to be thrown away.

We was unsure about painting patio slabs but we're happy with the results, we did the prep work to make sure it was successful and it seems to have been worth the effort.

Adheres really well to concrete , good coverage and no need for a second coat (yet). Good choice of colours - the dark grey looks especially classy on the patio, matching the frames of the bifolds. Well worth the money and enough paint left for another coat next spring should it be needed 😊

The paint went down really well and looks great when finished. We used the Sealer and primer first which helped the paint go down. The coverage was as stated on the website which meant i have a lot left as i ordered extra as you normally dont get the coverage stated on paints. It has been down for a couple of months now and looks the same as when it was first done. It is hard wearing and has not been affected at all by usage or the furniture being moved about on it. We live next to the woods so get a lot of mess from the birds which easily just wipes off. You probably can get cheaper paint but this is definitely worth the money.

After pricing up for tiles on the patio area I decided to go for the cheaper option of paint and stencil. Really glad that I did. Two pictures are from when it was initially done and the picture with furniture is how it’s holding up after four years. The area has had a lot of use in that time with socialising, DIY projects and having two children whose friends on the street are always in and out of the back. I’m about to redo it when I replace the fencing but I’d say I could easily get another two years at least before it needs to be done. The only thing I’d do differently is maybe not buy the anti slip paint. The flags are textured so probably didn’t need it and it’d be easier to keep the stencil clean along the way. Overall I have no qualms recommending this product and company.

Very pleased with the actual paints and sealers despite some issues with delayed delivery, spilt paints in transit and hard to get hold off customer support with Premium Paints. However, my issues did get resolved in the end but took some time. I had initially ordered the polyurethane block paving sealer 3 x 20 litre drums to seal my newly cleaned block paving driveway and this arrived on time and without any issues. The polyurethane sealer is excellent, but coverage was less than stated so had to order another 20-litre drum. However, I love the semi-matt finish on my driveway and so far, no weeds. The sand hardens after this sealer is applied. For my back patio area, I ordered the concrete paints and primer and this is what my review is mostly covering.
Premium Paints products are very good, and they totally transformed my old tired and badly soiled 22-year-old patio slabs to a lovely new patio area which has received lots of positive comments. Firstly, I will mention the colours I used to help other customers choose the correct shade. I read quite a few positive customer reviews with images posted on this site but very few customers mention the colours they used. For example, there are 3 shades of grey in this range (a popular shade) but with different lighting and sun, it’s hard to tell which shade has been used, and I struggled to distinguish between dark grey and grey on some customer images! So for the main background colour, I used grey for the slabs and for the stencil in light grey along with Rustin’s red brick concrete paint (500ml) for the inner pattern of the stencil. I am so glad I didn’t go for dark grey as the standard grey is fairly dark almost slate grey colour with a bluey tint and I am happy with it.
If you have ordered the non-slip version, please check the outer boxes for some pouches of powder that you have to mix for 2 minutes into each 5-litre tin of paint. Three of my pouches were missing or dislodged during transit which was frustrating as I couldn’t get hold of anyone at Premium Paints despite numerous calls and emails.
My review is long as I wanted to talk through each procedure to ensure a successful job if you are contemplating painting and/or stencilling concrete slabs. So, prior to painting we had the patio area and coping stones chemically cleaned by professionals, very important. You can jet wash yourself too however my slabs were very dirty with lichen and weeds. Once slabs dried, we used Sika Fast Fix in dark buff to seal the joints between the slabs, bit of a messy job. It took about 5 days for the joints to hardened.
After this, I swept the patio area and used my Henry vacuum to pick up any residual dust or bits left on the slabs and joints before we primed and sealed the slabs. We purchased the recommended Dustproofer primer and sealer in 5 litres and that just about covered the whole area. You only need 1 coat of primer if painting the slabs. This was applied using a 9 inch medium fibre roller with a long pole. For the edges we used a 2-inch brush to avoid getting paint on our bricks. It is very important the primer/sealer is used first to ensure paint adheres to bare concrete. Both paint and primer/sealer are touch dry an hour after being applied but we allowed a good 6 hours of drying time before we painted the first coat of grey paint, using a medium fibre roller to ensure paint went well into the slab grooves. I was very impressed straightaway; lovely grey shade and the paint was easy to apply, and you don’t need a lot. After the first coat, I covered the roller tightly in cling film as I do with my paint brushes and reused it the next day for the second coat rather than washing out the paint from the roller…a tedious task!
The light grey paint I ordered for the stencil, I found was a tad too light, almost white looking, so I added 2 tablespoons of the grey paint and mixed this well into the 5-litre tin of light grey and the end colour was very much a proper light grey that I was hoping to achieve which looked much better. The coping stones and steps were also primed and then painted in light grey.
After two coats of grey paint, we stencilled the slabs a few days later to get this end result. It has been two weeks and we have had rain several days but so far paint is tough and hasn’t scuffed or faded. Important to ensure you have at least 2 days of clear dry weather when painting to ensure the paint dries.
Overall, I am very pleased with the end result. I was initially looking to replace all my patio slabs but will now wait another five years or so given the lovely transformation. Happy to answer any queries or share tips on my patio job – feel free to message me at [****]
